2021 Steelcase Student Design Challenge

Objective: Next Beauty, headquartered in New York City, aims to bring clean beauty and cosmetics products to every person, no matter their skin color or background. The design concept for the company’s 15,000 square foot office space stems from these core values of inclusiveness and clean beauty, the owner’s Korean roots and its location in Columbus Circle. Concept: The office space provides individual workspaces, team collaboration areas, production rooms, and conference rooms primarily on the 7th floor. The 8th floor provides additional collaboration areas and the social and wellness rooms. All individual and team spaces facilitates connection to each other and to the company’s global market through advanced technology capabilities. 

Design Features: The color palette incorporates green to represent its commitment to sustainability, and various shades of brown, yellow, and pink to represent skin tones from around the world. The logo and the office design represent the interconnectedness of the company's clients and each of the company’s functions. Each team is concentrated as a department but is easily connected to other departments through proximity and “crossings” –enclaves between departments for cross-team discussions.
